"No Way Mom"

I took Sam to the Orthodontics on Tuesday to get his braces off. He has had bands, wires, brackets, braces since March of 2007. His were mainly on to keep the bands in place for his upper back molars.
Here is Sam's Story Say Ahhhh if you want to read it.
As you can tell i took before & after pics of Sam in the van. He didnt want to have a group picture taken with the Dr & Staff. So this is what i got. But he does want me to scrap book these pictures of him. Now i need to come up with a title. Any ideas??

Sam still has to go through treatment. He has to go back in 6 weeks. He has a temporary retainer on the bottom inside front and bands on both sides of his upper molars crossing over to the roof of his mouth. Just to keep the spaces open for his 12 year molars on the top to come in. And to keep the spaces open for his permanent eye teeth on the bottom. If you read his story you'll know why this had to be done. He is happy just to have the braces off.
Why do boys need constant reminding to brush their teeth. I am forever telling him. They don't see the consequences of what could happen if they don't brush. He's never had a cavity. YAY... I guess my nagging is paying off. :)
Anyway Not much else going on. Both granddaughter's are napping right now. Quiet is good!
Thanks for stoppin by. I hope to craft this weekend.
Have a great day!

Cuttlebug Cards

Not much to explain about these two cards. I used the Cuttlebug {Textile Texture folder} on both. All CTMH CS, Liquid Glass, Dew Drop, Stamp~ Friendship Blessings.
Sympathy Card~ Stamp from HL, Black Embossing Powder, Foam Dots.
I was asked in my previous post how the above ground, garden bed works. I suppose the same as a regular garden. I think he just wanted it off the ground. :) I have e mailed Jeanne but then thought others may want to know as well.
Charlie built the frame sides with wood and then dug trenches to set it in. He then dug and turned over the grass/dirt on the inside of the bed, added fresh grass clipping to help fertilize it then filled it with top soil he had saved. Then planted. We bought some Miracle-Gro ..."Shake 'n Feed" Feeds plants or flowers up to 3 months. About $10.00 a container. One bed is 7' the other is 4' He's making another 7' bed this weekend. He's also putting 12x12' cement pavers between the beds. That's about it. :) I'll post pictures when it all blooms. I'm anxious to see it too.
Hope this helps!
Have a great day. Thanks for stoppin by!

Garden Almost Complete

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Thank you so much for your kind words and Anniversary wishes for us. You are all so sweet!! Friday night Christyl & Mark kept our boys and Charlie & I went out to dinner. Nothing special, just some much needed quiet time.

It was great having my hubby home for 4 days. He took the layoff on Friday morning, had to stay for 2 hours show up time, and off he went. He was home my 10:30 am.
Saturday morning i knew he wanted to sleep in so i got up 6:30 went about my business, made my coffee, had my quiet time, & my laptop. Only to glance up and see a Giant Centipede running across the celling above me and on his way down the wall. Well, i had to wake up Charlie out of a sound sleep to get this thing. It was huge! LOL Honestly i don't do well with any bugs esp. those things with a zillion legs. yuck.
He wasn't mad that i woke him up. He just laughs at me. But i hear about it when he wants me to go camping and i don't go along. Too many bugs. I know, i shouldn't worry about that, but i hate to tent camp. Spiders always invade the tent.

Saturday he built these above ground garden beds. He wants to build one more 7' bed on the end.

Charlie planted flowers for me in the front flower bed yesterday. Toby got groomed too this weekend. He is such a ham!

I'd like to try and get into my scrap room today. Sam gets his braces off today too. He is one happy camper. :) He may still have to wear bands on his back molars yet?
Well i best be off if I'm going to get anything done today. Seems like a Monday.
Have a great week! Thanks for stoppin by!

Captured Memories

CTMH~ Key To My Heart Promo Paper Kit ~ Stamp Sets~ Key to my Heart, Giggle Lower Case, Taffy CS, Ink~Tulip, Juniper, DE Simple Numbers, Tulip Ink & Liquid Glass on 23, Bent the Silver Wire, Brads, Flowers, Misc. Corner Punch, SU Scallop Punch, Rub-Ons, Pull out Journal Tag.

I couldn't wait to scrap this picture. I have pictures of before i had my braces put on June 6th 2007. If you haven't seen my original post just scroll down a bit.. I decided on the title,... 23 months of Captured Memories, Because i didn't want to just put the focus on me. My Dr and staff for my Orthodontic treatments were the best! IMHO Dr Shows is Brilliant!! I had one lower molar that literally had to be spun into place, it was sideways in my lower jaw.
My 23 months of treatment went by so fast. I am so glad i did it! YAY
Anywho, all is well here. Charlie asked for a layoff this Friday, He'll be taking a different job,{May 26} right next to where he is working. Being on constant OT for the last year...10 hours a day and 8 on Saturday gave us no real family time. He'll still be driving the distance {75 miles one way} but he'll be on 4~10's for a while, maybe the whole summer. Having a 3 day weekend all summer will be nice for all of us.
That's about it for now. Have a happy hump day! Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings!

Life goes on...

But it still hurts. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, e mails, and kind words.
The funeral was beautiful on Sunday. The most heartfelt part was when Carol's 2 sisters and one brother shared about what a wonderful sister she was. She gave without expecting anything in return. They also reflected on their childhood together, and how fun, loving and caring she was even as a young girl.
Carol's brother spoke that there will be no more "What If's"! He said he had suffered too from depression in his adult life, and Carol had an organ that was sick and dying... It was her brain. She couldn't cope with the pressures of this life. Not excusing it, but trying to understand it. Carol's mother died of cancer at this same time a year ago.
In time I'm going to do a scrapbook page in memory of Carol and remembering what a wonderful friend she was to me over the years.
Hug a friend today.

Blessings!

Suicide Is NOT OK

As Carol's viewing is nearing today and funeral tomorrow i just needed to vent.. I still can't believe she's gone....Suicide is not ok. It's past the cry for help.
I know sometimes people have overwhelming stress in their lives and they feel no one cares and they have No Hope. They want to end it all. There is no inner peace they can turn too. Where is God?? In Jesus Name, He's a whisper away. Reach out! Ask him to help you and come into your life. {And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Acts 2;21}
For those who have that "Hope of an Eternity in Heaven"... it's a win win for them. They know heaven is their home. But some are even unsure of their own Eternal Destination. They just want out of here.
But for us who are left to put the pieces together of their broken lives, it's heart wrenching. Hoping to one day see them again. Yet asking ourselves... If i only spent more time with so and so/Ronnie/Carol. Would this still have happened?
My brother Ronnie took his own life September 14, 1980. He was going through an ugly divorce. He was down at my dads shop and left his voice on a cassette tape. Saying good- bye and his last plea to get his wife back. His wife at the time brought him the gun. { He told her he had a buyer for it?} She went back hours later and found him. I have forgiven. But It's something you never forget, it stays with you the rest of your life. My daughter's close friend ..... Her brother took his own life a year ago. Had dinner with his parents the night before. Hugged them good bye outside his house. Went in and hours later called 911 and told them he was going to take his life. {not wanting his family to find him} By the time the police got there it was over.
Yesterday a 17 year old student from our local High School took his own life in the School parking lot. It's Not OK. They're hurting and crying for help!
I'm numb. I'm sorry if this is more then you wanted to read/hear. But this is real life and real people are hurting.. Let's reach out to them before it's too late.
I miss you.... Ronnie, Carol
Hug a friend today. Tell them there lives matter.

Blessings!
